COMPLETE A POLICE CRIMINAL RECORD CHECK:

One Hope Canada is a national, non profit charity that provides service primarily to children and youth of all ages. As such, we have a Child & Youth Protection Policy that requires all personnel, volunteers, and support persons to be thoroughly screened. This includes providing a Police Criminal Record Check if 18 or older and a Vulnerable Sector Check if 25 or older.

 

If you have not had a Criminal Record check completed and on file at Torch Trail in the past TWO YEARS you will need to have one done.


CRIMINAL RECORD PROCEDURE:

 

  • Go to your local Royal Canadian Mounted Police station, ask them to do a "Criminal Records check" on you. You will need to explain that you will be working at the camp during the summer months. If you need a letter from us, please let us know and we will send it to you.

Summer Missionary Positions Available

Lifeguard - responsible for providing a safe and fun environment at our pool. Must have a valid  NLS certification. Will also be responsible for pool deck, and pool house upkeep, and help with general camp duties as needed.

Wrangler - wranglers will help care for the horses, assist in skills, and help with barn upkeep. They should be familiar with horses. (Head wrangler is responsible for overseeing other wranglers and lead all aspects at the ranch) 

Senior Cabin Leader - responsible for leading a cabin with the assistance of a Junior cabin leader. They are expected be involved in all aspects of camp life, leading skills as well as cabin time devotions. Must be at least 18 years of age. 

Junior Cabin Leader - work with campers under the leadership of the senior cabin leader. They are expected to be involved in all aspects of camp life, leading skills, and helping with cabin time devotions.

Head Cook - responsible for meal planning, food production, ordering food, and give oversight to the other cooks and kitchen volunteers.

Assistant Cook - responsible for helping with food production to make tasty camp meals, and kitchen operations (serving, prepping, cleaning)

Head Custodian - responsible for the upkeep/cleanliness of camp buildings (bathrooms, sweeping, mopping, sanitizing, dusting, doing dishes as needed, etc.), as well as give oversight to custodian helpers. 

Maintenance Worker - help with maintaining camp buildings, grounds, and equipment.
